ACAP Membership Categories and Criteria 

Accreditation: Applications for Accredited Membership of ACAP will open from the 26th of June 2021, with the first meeting of the Accreditation Committee planned for September 2021 (please see link to page on Accreditation for further details.) From January 2022 ACAP Membership Categories will be as follows; Accredited Membership, Pre-Accredited Membership, Student Membership and Associate Membership. Until December 31rst 2021 the Membership Categories and Criteria outlined below will
continue to apply.


Associate Membership : Open to professionals practicing in a related field with an interest in Child Art Psychotherapy. Invitations to quarterly workshops/lectures and access to online publications and newsletter. 40 euro pa.


Student Membership : Open to current students on the two year Msc in Child Art Psychotherapy with the Mater Misericordiae Hospital and University College Dublin. Invitations to quarterly general meetings, workshops/lectures and access to online publications and newsletter. 40 euro pa.


Graduate Membership : Open to graduates of the two year Hdip or Msc in Child Art Psychotherapy with the Mater Misericordiae Hospital and University College Dublin (or Hdip in Visual Psychotherapy 2001-2005). Invitations to quarterly general meetings, workshops/lectures, a right to vote at the AGM and access to online publications and newsletter. Optional member details uploaded to ACAP Website. 80 euro pa.


Graduate Member with Advanced Clinical Training : Open to Graduate Members who have successfully completed the two year Post Masters Training in Child Art Psychotherapy with The School of Psychotherapy at Saint Vincent’s University Hospital (available since 2015). Invitations to quarterly general meetings, workshops/lectures, a right to vote at the AGM and access to online publications and newsletter. Optional member details uploaded to ACAP Website. 80 euro pa.


Conditions of Membership: All Graduate and Graduate Members with Advanced Clinical Training must abide by the ACAP Ethical Code and submit their Children’s First Training Certificate and Evidence of Public Liability Insurance alongside their Application Form. All Membership runs on an annual basis from January to December.

Membership criteria and fees are subject to change. It is advisable that all members keep a detailed log of training, supervision, personal therapy, CPD and psychotherapy practice hours.
